A cosmic horror point and click inspired by the movies

Made in one week by a solo dev for the Brackeys Game Jam 2025.2. It is designed to be played embedded in browser (sorry, no fullscreen or executables, but you'll see what I mean!)

I'd really like to expand on it after the jam; more branching narratives, more elaborate puzzles, etc. If you love/hate it please let me know! I'd really love to know:

  • does it play as you would expect for a game of this format?
  • is it let down by anything in particular?
  • is there anything you enjoyed in particular?
  • is this something you would be interested in playing?
  • and is this worth continuing? ^_^

Many thanks in advance!

WOW! Can't believe Blood Engine came 40th out of 2,300 entries. Thank you everyone who played and rated, and massive congratulations to everyone who entered. Just completing a game in a week is a fantastic achievement!

Credits

Huge thank you to my niece, Robyn Handley, who recorded the voice lines for the cinematic.

Tools

Made using the Adventure Creator Toolkit for Unity. I wanted to do this project just so I could learn how to use it. :)  Should be useful for fast prototyping in future.

3D Assets

Zerin Labs Low Poly Pack SciFi (I assembled the scene using these assets, took screenshots for the backgrounds and modified the with Gimp.)

2D artwork, animations and VFX are my own.

This has been a very cool experience, very creepy very fun, short and sweet but rather polished . I especially liked the way it uses the full length of the screen in clever ways. I think it was a bit unclear what i was doing at first but i suppose that adds to the horror. ( also unrelated to the game but the shade of the comment text on this background is very hard to read, intentional perhaps but just an accessibility issue i got with it)

Thank you for the feedback!

You mean the comments section on the page, right? Yh, I can not find a way to get the CSS to change the color of that. I'll see if I can make the text brighter. Always gotta be thinking about accessibility. Thanks again!

Managed to fix it I think. Thanks again for pointing it out!

Thanks for fixing it. Great work again!

Love the sound design! Also cool trick to have a wide player, so, when you look out of the window broken pods are magically out of the game screen

So atmospheric, I enjoyed it alot
